Self-employed Financial Advisor with full autonomy for the day to day
running of a successful franchise. Key areas include business planning,
managing financial targets, marketing and setting/achieving sales targets.
In addition my experience includes that of a Field Sales Coach accompanying
Financial Advisors on client meetings to ensure implementation of the
Financial Services Authority regulatory guidelines and implementation
of ongoing training programmes.
1989 - 1990 Star Products Packaging Ltd
Sales Manager with responsibility for a sales team of three field representatives
and eight office-based sales executives. Main duties included agreeing
performance standards, training and monitoring of all members of the department
ensuring sales targets achieved and company procedures programme implemented.
1974 - 1989 Mars Confectionery (UK) Ltd
Field Sales Manager (seconded to CPM International plc) responsible for
a team of seven Sales Managers controlling a team of approximately ninety
Sales Merchandisers across southern England. Responsibility of operation
included recruiting, training and monitoring of subordinates to achieve
performance targets agreed with Sales Director. Developed and instigated
"Training to Train" programme for subordinates with continual
monitoring of results to improve departments effectiveness. Ongoing control
of agreed budgets including planning and organising monthly training meetings
and annual sales conferences.
Regional Account Manager managing a portfolio of key account contacts
including Tesco, Woolworth, Boots and the Co-op. Key performance areas
included negotiation of local display and promotional agreements to maximise
sales.
Sales Representative managing a territory of multiple retail outlets
comprising of many of the key UK retailers (Sainsbury, Tesco, Asda, Boots
and Woolworth) with responsibility to negotiate local display agreements
and implement nationally agreed standards thus ensuring company quality
standards maintained.
Background
With experience as both a self-employed individual and as an
employee of a large multinational I have achieved success in both environments
by implementing systems and controls to ensure that the sales objectives
have been met or exceeded. This has involved operating as a team member
using my interpersonal skills to communicate with both subordinates and
Main Board Directors. As a franchisee, I have extensive experience in
working as an individual making key decisions on the direction of the
franchise. Throughout my career I have attended numerous training courses
covering a wide range of subjects ensuring that my skills as a good communicator,
trainer and manager are continually developed.
